Biogeochemical Forecast – Diffuse Attenuation Coefficient

The Global Ocean Biogeochemistry Analysis and Forecast model of the Copernicus Marine Service is run once per week run to forecast the biogeochemical state of the ocean.  Here we see the 10-day forecasts of the diffuse attneuation coefficient, an important part of underwater visibility.

The Operational Mercator Ocean biogeochemical global ocean analysis and forecast system at 1/4 degree provides 10 days of 3D global ocean forecasts updated weekly. This product includes daily files of biogeochemical parameters (chlorophyll, nitrate, phosphate, silicate, dissolved oxygen, dissolved iron, diffuse attenuation coefficient, primary production, phytoplankton, pH, and surface partial pressure of carbon dioxide) over the global ocean. Any of these parameters can be requested.
