Biogeochemical Forecast
The Global Ocean Biogeochemistry Analysis and Forecast model of the Copernicus Marine Service is run once per week – Thursday – to forecast the biogeochemical state of the ocean. Here we highlight the pH profile, the chlorophyll profile, and the diffuse attenuation coefficient.
The Operational Mercator Ocean biogeochemical global ocean analysis and forecast system provides 10 days of 3D global ocean forecasts updated weekly. This product includes daily files of biogeochemical parameters (chlorophyll, nitrate, phosphate, silicate, dissolved oxygen, dissolved iron, diffuse attenuation coefficient, primary production, phytoplankton, pH, and surface partial pressure of carbon dioxyde) over the global ocean. The global ocean output files are displayed with a 1/4 degree horizontal resolution with regular longitude/latitude equirectangular projection and 50 vertical levels ranging from 0 to 5700 meters.
The Copernicus Marine Service provides free, open, regular and systematic reference information on the blue (physical), white (sea ice), and green (biogeochemical) ocean state, variability and dynamics across the global ocean and European regional seas.
