Wave-Buoy Validation – 7 to 14 Day Forecast

Here we examine the set of the WAVEWATCH III wave height forecasts from 7 to 14 days out (red), compared to the measured significant wave heights from the NDBC buoy (black).  In this case the forecast is classified as noise, as less than 60% of the forecasted wave heights were within one foot (0.35m) of the actual buoy height.
